Co-sponsored by the Upper Valley Community Band, the Lebanon Elks Club & the Hanover Lions Club<\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Close-knit communities don\u2019t simply materialize. People work together to create cohesion, trust and—in this case\u2014music! Three Upper Valley organizations\u2014the Lebanon Elks, the Hanover Lions, and the Upper Valley Community Band under the direction of Mark Nelson\u2014for the 7th year\u2014are joining forces to foster community and support a great cause. Please join us on Sunday, September 13 th at 4 p.m. at the Lebanon Elks field (150 Heater Road, Lebanon) for a free outdoor concert (inside if rain) by the Upper Valley Community Band followed by a BBQ ($). The concert and BBQ will benefit Copper Cannon Camp and Camp Mayhew, tuition-free summer camps for underserved youth in New Hampshire. Donations are split evenly between the two camps. Last year we raised $8,000: let\u2019s do better by supporting this worthy cause. Donations will be graciously accepted at the concert, however, if you can\u2019t attend, please consider making a donation to the Hanover Lions Club PO Box 871 Hanover, NH 03755 Attn Camp Fundraiser or online at hanoverlions.org\/index.php\/make-a-donation. Please join us and spread the word to friends and family, bring a chair, enjoy a great afternoon of music and food and help make a difference for the kids.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Hanover Lions Club “Byrne Cup” Twin State All-Star Lacrosse Games<\/strong> <\/em>are held annually.<\/p>\n On Saturday, June 20, 2026, the NH Girls’ All-Stars played the VT Girls’ All-Stars, and the VT Boys’ All-Stars played the NH Boys’ All-Stars. The games honor the high-school All-Stars and raise money for the Hanover Lions to return to the community!<\/p>\n To learn more about the games visit the Twin State All-Star website<\/a><\/strong>, and see the 2026 games’ results.<\/p>\n Our April Action Auction for 2026 has concluded! We accepted bids from April 1st to April 12th. This year\u2019s proceeds of $5500 were donated to the Upper Valley Health Closet, an organization that gives free durable medical equipment to those who need it. Thanks for bidding and contribute to the greater good.<\/p>\n The link to the auction is:\u00a0https:\/\/www.32auctions.com\/hanoverlionsauction2026<\/a><\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t The Hanover Lions Club recycles eyeglasses that are no longer useful for the owner when, for example, the owner gets a new prescription. The Lions then sends the glasses to people around the world who can use them. Find out how you can participate.<\/a><\/p>\n Drop off locations include the Hanover Food Coop, the Lebanon Coop, the Howe Library, Hanover High School, Hill Opticians, Hanover Eye Care, and Kendal at Hanover. We collect hearing aids, too!<\/p>\n The\u00a0Annual Prouty<\/strong>\u00a0is an athletic event that raises funds to benefit Dartmouth and Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC), one of 51 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country, and the only one in northern New England.<\/p>\n The Prouty\u2122 began in 1982 when four NCCC nurses, inspired by the courage of their patient, Audrey Prouty, committed to cycling 100 miles through the White Mountains of New Hampshire.<\/p>\n The Hanover Lions Club runs the grill tent which serves food to participants as they finish their rides\/walks\/outings.<\/p>\n Find out more how you can participate on the Prouty website.<\/a><\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t![\"\"](\"https:\/\/hanoverlions.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Labor-Day-Concert-2025-768x573.jpg\")
